André started last week his summer tennis classes for 4 year old kids. So here there are some pics of his first week. I hope he continues with this sport, because you know tennis is all about practice, practice, practice.
I couldn't help but notice that André is a lot taller than his pals of the same age. It seems my secret vitamin is working, isn't it?  ;)

Our last day in Marseille, after the nice White Weekend I posted before, we enjoyed a relaxed breakfast in our hotel, surrounded by one of the most beautiful gardens I've seen in the French countryside. Next, we promenade around the city of Marseille to at least see the sea _that we don't have in Switzerland_ and have lunch, before heading back to Geneva.

Back to Switzerland, after the Spring break, we're all still recovering from a trip with too much fun. So we're planning on taking it slow this week.
I'm now uploading some pictures from before the break. When the family had an Easter get-together in a charming relative's chalet in the Swiss woods. It was a cold day, so we took just a few pictures in the surroundings before to head straight to the warm fireplace to eat chocolate eggs. Easter is the only time when it's perfectly safe to put all your eggs in a basket  ;)

This crazy weather can be scary for children, and indeed for parents. Kids have to dress well for confort and movement so I usually use the approach of layers. You know what people say: "No bad weather, only bad clothing".

VINTAGE TREASURES

Adrien is 9 months old and his great-grandfather Otti, of 96 years old, came for lunch to celebrate this special day. Otti is a special person that speaks several languages, has written a book and even has a Facebook profile. He's pretty active on the social media!
Adrien is the only of his six great-grandchildren that got his blue eyes, and is the only one who lives in Geneva as well, so they're very close.  May God give them many days together!

What would be better for a dino-crazed kid that a dinosaur dig? Balexert, the biggest shopping mall in Geneva organized a Dinosaur Exposition with fossils and dino-dig for children. It was fun and educational!

EXTRA! EXTRA! We had a "Sip & See Baby Shower" to introduce Adrien to our friends. For those who don't know what kind of baby shower is a Sip & See one, it's made AFTER the baby is born to actually meet the new baby.
It had a Vintage Journal theme, and all the decoration was made by me with old newspapers. It was simple, but original. Everybody liked it and we had really a great time!

SUPERANDRE

Having a new baby while studying a master degree in IOMBA (International Organizations MBA of the University of Geneva), made it really difficult for me to take everyday pics of André's outfits. I feel sorry that I missed to capture so many important moments during this year.
Anyway, he's thrilled to be the older brother of baby Adrien so far! I feel really proud of him, he loves his baby brother and is never jealous. What a blessing! Mashallah!
Now that he's 4 years old, here there are a few pics of his 3th year that I didn't include in last posts. In the first picture, he's wearing his 6-pack Superman costume  ;)

Holidays time finally came!! All the family spent a wonderful time resting and sightseeing Italy. We went to Bergamo, Lake Garda, Verona, Riccione, Oltramare and San marino. What a tour!  It was pure fun!! 

In the summer, because of the high temperatures, I like to give my children something comfy and fun to wear  :)

SWISS DAY

August 1st, 2011

August 1st is the Swiss National Day and we spent the day with Adrien's great-grandfather Otti and for the night we went to the shores of the Léman Lake to watch the fireworks and bonfires surrounding the lake.
This date from the year 1291, when the first three Alpine cantons made a historic alliance against the Habsburgs at that time. They promised mutual help and eternal allegiance. While this date commemorates more than 700 years of this event, the Swiss, that are well known for being hardworkers, voted for celebrate this day and take the day off only in 1993.
During this day, there is a nice display of fireworks that you can see around the lakes. The bakeries sell bread rolls with little Swiss flags and the children carry paper lanterns during the night in their way to watch the fireworks, while the adults light bonfires in every commune.
Bonfires have a long tradition in Switzerland, for centuries they have lit bonfires on top of the mountains whenever there was danger. Even there are legends about how the barbarians fled away when they saw the reflect of the multiples bonfires reflected in the lake waters, as they thought it was the edge of the world and were about to ride off into the sky.
André loves these tales... Joyeuse Fête à la Suisse!!

OH LA LA!

Another day in paradise for André. He had wonderful Sarah's birthday party with a princess theme. There were loads of little girls looking for the charming prince, and here there goes André  ;)  For us it was as well a weekend full of exciting activities and time to catch up with friends.

LOOKING COOL

I've being lately absolutely, utterly, crazy in love with white orchids. I felt so touched when my hubby brought me to the hospital a gorgeous arrangement after the birth of Adrien. It's now in our dining room. Then, we decided to make an artificial arrangement for the entrance of Daniel's cabinet which is too dark to have natural ones. So, I took the children, during a summer hot day, for a tour to all the flower shops in Geneva and surroundings. My favorite flower shop is Schilliger.

Here is an overload of picture of André in La Praille mall and others shops. He helped me to baby sit Adrien  :)

BOYS TOYS

Some days ago, my hubby had a Vernissage to display the pictures of his humanitarian mision in Africa. All the family went to support him, of course. André was the youngest guest, but not the less elegant.  Before leaving, I took some pics of his formal outfit with my hubby's Corvette.  André, as all men in the world -I guess- loves this sports car!

It's not a joke! Actually, scientist have found proof that sports car make men feel more macho.  What I found hilarious was the comparison of men with peacocks fanning their tail to grab women's attention. They said that "men use their cars to advertise their wealth".  It seems that men believe that this kind of cars give them "a powerful sexual charm that renders them irresistible to women"... who knew?  ;)

ADRIEN LE LAPIN

Yesterday I had André putting puzzles together and "reading" books in the kitchen while his little brother was taking a nap and I was cooking. And guess what?... we found out that one of André's books, which he got for his 3th birthday, was "Adrien Le Lapin" (Adrien The Rabbit). André read it to his brother of course  ;)  ... and voilà! the weekend starts here!! (thanks God!)

FETE DE MERES

La Fête des Mères or Mother's Day in the French region is in a different day that the rest of the world. This year was on Sunday, May 29th.  I received these two gifts pictured above: a Net-a-Porter black box and a beautiful baby  ;)  Which one do you like the most? hehe
